With over 33 years of experience in healthcare, ranging from the direct delivery of services to the development, administration and management of state policy, these experiences offer a broad range of skills and expertise in the healthcare industry. Tara retired from the NC Department of health and Human Services in 2013 and joined the firm of Cansler Collaborative Resources as Senior Healthcare Policy Specialist. In her recent roles prior to joining Cansler, she served as Interim Director of NC Medicaid, Deputy Director of NC Medicaid and Assistant Director of Clinical Services. She has expertise and knowledge retarding all aspects of healthcare operations, policy making, governmental relations and program accountability. Her direct experience in the delivery of healthcare services in the local community mental health centers, residential facilities, a collaborative day treatment program with the local public school systems and ongoing volunteer work with case management agencies and addictive disorder programs provides insight into the day to day challenges and responsibilities of delivering healthcare in today’s market
